Information discovery and publishing platform Pinterest has introduced two AI-driven features to its Pinterest Performance plus suite which is designed to simplify campaign management for small businesses. This new feature will increase ad activity and bring more purchase-ready users to the platform which will give creators an organic reach and discovery.

How do the tools work

The first tool is called New Customer Acquisition (NCA) that lets an advertiser upload its existing customer list and then focus new ads on first-time buyers. The system is built such that it automatically targets advertisements toward individuals most likely to become first-time purchasers. In early testing, advertisers who turned it on recorded a 64% average rise in new-customer conversions, the company said.

For creators, this matters because as more brands invest in reaching new buyers, overall platform activity goes up, and hence, the organic visibility.

The second update is a one-click shopping setup for Shopify merchants, wherein eligible businesses can launch a Pinterest Performance Plus shopping campaign straight from the Shopify integration or Ads Manager.

“With two updates that are designed to help you move faster and grow smarter, Pinterest Performance plus NCA helps to prioritise net-new buyers, and one-click Pinterest Performance plus shopping for eligible merchants gets best-practice campaigns live in minutes,” the company said in the statement.

Why it matters for smaller businesses and creators

Enterprises of a smaller scale often lack the human and financial resources required for complex advertising platforms. By optimising budgetary efficiency, automating targeting criteria, and accelerating campaign deployment, these systems provide marketing outcomes without requiring professional advertising experience.

These AI technologies target consumers and streamline ad workflows to help creators engage in conversions. By boosting reach and revenue, the platform enables professional results without requiring a dedicated marketing team.

However, there is an accessibility catch for creators in India as Pinterest hasn’t confirmed India rollout yet. The immediate beneficiaries here are Indian D2C brands that sell into the US, UK and Australia through Shopify and can now stand up campaigns faster.
